This question has been on my mind for quite some time. I grew up inspired by so many books and the majority of those books were written by people who don’t look like me.
Storytelling is what connects all of humanity and books are one of the purest forms of storytelling. Anyone can and should be inspired or entertained by any book, regardless of who wrote it. But today, reading a book by a black author feels like such a revolutionary act and it shouldn’t be.
So that’s what I’m discussing in this episode. Hope you enjoy. And if you do, please share it.
Is it the writing or the writer?
